# YAML Configuration Syntax The configuration file is a YAML file to initialize the environment. It contains the configuration parameters to simulate and visualize the world, obstacle, and robot. You can customize the scenario and define the behavior of the objects simply by using the parameters. --- ## Configuration Overview A complete IR-SIM scene is described by up to four top-level keys — `world`, `robot`, `obstacle`, and `gui`. **`robot` and `obstacle` share the same per-object schema** — only their default `role` differs. Expand the interactive tree below to explore every key with its type and default; every key is optional unless its default is `—`.
